Our Office Policies Regarding Fees

We at Richard J. McCann's Dental Practice are proud to be part of a team whose primary goal is to deliver the finest and most comprehensive dental care available today. We are concerned about your dental health and want to ensure that it is attended to in a responsible manner. With much research and consideration, we are pleased to offer the following plans to help our patients receive optimum and affordable dental care.

1. INSURANCE - Insurance is a great benefit for our patients and we are pleased to file directly to your insurance company under the following guidelines:
a. We ask that you bring your insurance card and completed dental form on your initial visit. A copy of your company's benefit booklet would also be helpful.
b. Estimated copayment is to be paid on the day of your visit.
c. Most insurance companies will pay within 30 days. If your insurance company does not pay within 30 days, the balance becomes your responsibility and is due at that time.
d. Not all services are covered benefits in all contracts. Our staff is well trained for remitting in optimum coverage and payment, however, some procedures are not covered with some plans. We will try to advise, but due to multiple plans with different coverage, it is in your best interest to find out all of your insurance benefits for maximum dental coverage and usage.

2. NON-INSURANCE - We offer more creative approaches to help you receive needed dental care.
a. For Senior Citizens (65 and up), a 10% discount is extended if payment is made by cash or check only and if payment is made on the date dental care is provided.
b. Payment is expected at time of treatment for fees less than $200.00.
c. Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express are accepted.
d. CareCredit - Another convenient and affordable way to make monthly payments on your dental treatment. No interest options. 6, 12, 18 & 24 month plans. (Verification of credit standing may be necessary).

3. EXTENSIVE/MAJOR TREATMENT - Crowns, dentures, bridges, root canal therapy, periodontal surgery, soft tissue management, and treatment that may involve laboratory procedures.
a. Our office will offer a courtesy discount on all fees over $500.00. Payment must be made by cash or check and be paid in full on or before the date dental care is provided. (This option does not apply if patient has dental insurance).
b. On larger treatment plans, we expect appropriate down payment and the balance is required during treatment or upon it's completion.

4. STATEMENTS - To help reduce our costs and thus pass the saving to you through our fees and services, we ask that billing be unecessary. When necessary, accounts 30 days past due will accrue at 1.5% interest per month. All dental services are rendered in good faith and we ask that collection never be necessary. We want to keep our dental relationship for a long time!!
